In addition, as baby boomers reach retirement age there will be increased demand for retirement communities and health care facilities. The need to replace aging structures of all types will also mean significant job prospects for architects throughout and likely beyond the next decade. Applicants, however, will continue to outnumber available positions and competition for employment will continue to be strong, particularly in prestigious firms.
